Bows and tassels…

It’s challenge day over at The Studio Challenges.

This week we’re asking you use bows or tassels on your layout…or BOTH!

I’m not much of a bows and tassels girl, but I did create 3 tiny yellow bows using some embroidery thread.

I used mainly papers from Vicki Boutin’s “Colour Kaleidoscope” collection and also a piece from MME “Happy Days” collection.

The enamel dots are also from MME and the word “lovely” is a Kaisercraft clear sticker.

I chose to make yellow bows for my layout because turquoise and yellow are complimentary colours.

So head on over to The Studio Challenges to check out what the rest of the design team came up with.

And if you play along, please link up your project. You could be chosen to be a guest designer for us! 😀

Happy scrapping!

A sketch challenge…

Hello everyone!

There’s a new challenge up over at The Studio Challenges today.

It’s a sketch!

Here’s my interpretation of it. I chose to turn the sketch counter-clockwise.

I used papers from Kaisercraft’s “Blessed” collection, ephemera bits from Vicki Boutin’s “Colour Kaleidoscope” collection and a piece of paper from her “Field Notes” collection. I chose to do a black and white background so my picture popped!

The title word is from Jillibean Soup’s “Harvest Garden” collection.

I finished off the layout with some yellow enamel dots, a few yellow flower stickers with little crystal centres and a piece of black and white flair.

So head on over to The Studio Challenges to see the sketch and check out the gorgeous layouts from the rest of the design team.

You’re sure to be inspired!!

Happy scrapping.

Colour challenge…

There’s a new challenge going on over at The Studio Challenges.

Create a project using the 2019 Pantone colour of the year – coral!

Here’s the layout I created:

I really had to look for something in my stash that was coral! LOL! I had recently created a layout using up all my coral papers, so I was really happy to find ONE piece of coral paper in the Photo Play “Stuck On You” collection I just received.

I only used this one piece of paper for the layout. The embellishments I used are from a number of different manufacturers – Simple Stories, Kaisercraft, Bella Blvd., Creative Embellishments and American Crafts just to name a few.

So head on over to The Studio Challenges and check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with!

Happy scrapping!

The power of 3…

Hello everyone!

There’s a new challenge today over at The Studio Challenges  – “The Power of Three“!

For this challenge, whatever you use on your page, you have to use 3 of.  For example, if you use patterned paper, you have to use 3 different papers, for your embellishments, you have to use 3, use 3 photos on your page, and so on.  I’m sure you get the idea! 😉

Here’s my layout for the challenge:

I used 3 photos, a 3 word title, 3 stars, 3 patterned papers, 3 yellow enamel dots, 3 green enamel dots, 3 words stickers, 3 element stickers, and 3 pennants in the corner under the year.

This layout is a little simpler than I wanted it to be, but I was challenged to work with groups of 3 and didn’t want to clutter up my layout with too many different elements.

So, head on over to the blog and check out what the rest of the design team came up with for this challenge.

And if you play along, please share your work with us! We love seeing your interpretations!

Happy scrapping!

SPRING…

Happy Easter everyone!

Today we have a new challenge over on The Studio Challenges blog – SPRING!!

We’re asking you to create a project using items from your crafting supplies that spell the word “SPRING”.

I actually found this challenge, well, challenging! LOL!! There are a lot of items that start with the letters in “SPRING”, however, you have to use them all together in one project.

Here’s my take on the challenge:

DSCN8765

I mainly used Vicki Boutin’s “Field Notes” collection I purchased from Scrapbook Nerd. The colours were SUPER springy and I was able to meet most of the challenge criteria with the collection alone! BONUS!

The word “hello” is from Jillibean Soup’s “Garden Harvest” collection and the enamel dots from Doodlebug Designs.

I really hope you play along! If you do, remember to link up your project on our blog.  We LOVE to see your work!

So head on over to The Studio Challenges blog and find out what items I used and see what the rest of the DT team came up with.

Colour palette challenge…

Hello everyone!

Today over at The Studio Challenges we are inspiring you with a very Springy colour palette!

The colour palette is one of my favourites – blues and yellows!

Here’s my take on the challenge.

DSCN8681

The majority of the papers and embellishments I used on this layout are from the Jillibean Soup “Farmhouse Stew” collection.  They were PERFECT!! I also incorporated a few elements from Vicki Boutin’s “Colour Kaleidoscope” collection that I received recently from Scrapbook Nerd.

I created a “coffee cup stain” by inking the bottom of an old coffee cup.

A few blue and yellow enamel dots and journaling around the edges of the page finished off the layout.

So, head over to The Studio Challenges blog and check out the inspiring colour palette and the awesome layouts from the rest of the design team.

Then don’t forget to play along and link up your layout for a chance to be a guest designer with us!

We can’t wait to see what you create!
