Week #7…

Hi there!

Yesterday I completed my scrapbook page for the “52 Favourites” challenge over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}This is week #7! I honestly can’t believe I have done a scrapbook page every week this year so far! It’s so fun!!! What I like most about it, is I’m documenting the everyday moments and not just special occasions or big events.

I used this sketch from the Scrapbook Nerd blog for inspiration.

The layout was created using Echo Park‘s “A Perfect Winter” collection and a few miscellaneous jewel dots I had that matched the layout perfectly.

I hadn’t ordered any of the coordinating embellishments (I should have!!) so I didn’t have much to create dimension with. So I used pop dots and popped up some of the stickers.

If you haven’t checked out the Scrapbook Nerd blog yet, you really should.  It has some great inspiration!

Happy scrapping!

I couldn’t help myself…

Hey there!

So, over the weekend I just couldn’t help myself and made another little purchase at Scrapbook Nerd.

They have super fast shipping, so I knew I would get my order by the time my next day off rolled around – today! 😀

I purchased Jillibean Soup’s “Farmhouse Stew”.  The colours are not the usual colours I go for, but I had a few photos that I thought would work perfectly with the collection.

I also purchased some Jillibean Soup felt flowers because I have a few ugly magnets I feel can use some beautification.

I’ll post them when I’m finished.

Off to do a little crafting!

Have a great afternoon everyone!

Week 6…

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing with you layout #6 of my “52 Favourites”.

For this layout, I played along with the “Take 5” challenge over on the Paper Issues Friends & Fans facebook page.  They give you a list of items to choose from for your layout and you have to include 5.  From the items on the list, I picked red, pink, the word “love”, a heart and polka dots.

I really enjoy this challenge so I’m glad I got the chance to play along.  Want to check it out? Just click here and ask to join the group (if you’re not already a member!).

I used papers from Kaisercraft “Hide & Seek” collection I purchased from Scrapbook Nerd.  I also used Jillibean Soup foam words, and Simple Stories chipboard pieces from their “Life in Color” collection.

I popped up some of my embellishments to create a bit more dimension.  Also, I didn’t have all the letters I needed in the font I wanted to use, so my “n”  in the word “in” is an upside down small “u”, my “m” in the word “mug” is an upside down small “w”, and my “u” in mug is a capital “U” cut down.

My first Design Team reveal is this Sunday for The Studio Challenges, so stay tuned to see what I created!

Happy scrapping.

Week 5…

Hello there!

Here’s my week 5 layout for Paper Issues “52 Favourites” challenge.

Of course getting so much happy mail was the highlight of my week! 😉DSCN8488I used my new collection from Kaisercraft, “Hide & Seek” that I purchased from Scrapbook Nerd. The collection is geared more towards children but worked quite nicely for this page.DSCN8489DSCN8490Here’s hoping everyone finds some time this weekend to get your scrap on!

A little shopping…

Hello everyone!

I was thinking last week, if I’m participating in a challenge that requires me to scrapbook 1 layout a week, I’d better buy some new stuff!! 😉

So, last Thursday night while my husband and son went to the movies, I ordered some goodies from Paper Issues. This is what happens when you leave me alone!

But then a couple of days ago, along comes a coupon in my inbox for 15% off any purchase at Scrapbook Nerd! Well, I’m not one to let a coupon go to waste! LOL! So I placed an order with them too!

Now I’m sitting here impatiently waiting on 2 orders to come in.  I’ve been scrapbooking quite a bit lately trying to use up my old stash because I need to make room for all the  new things coming in.

Here are a couple of layouts I’ve completed using up my older stash:DSCN8374I used up the last of my Simple Stories “Cabin Fever” collection on this layout.  The colours of these papers worked perfectly for this photo.DSCN8365And for this layout, I used up the last of my Crate Paper “Boys Rule” collection which I think came out about 5 years ago!

I was lucky to be able to come home from work early today so I’m going to go and start on another page for the “52 Favourites” challenge.  Remember, you can join in the challenge at any time! It’s really fun…and challenging!

Happy scrapping!
