I found time to play…

Hey there!

It’s been a while, but in the midst of our move, I found some time finally to play!

I got together with a few of my scrapbooking girls recently and created these two layouts for a couple of the Fall on-line crop challenges over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} page. (If you’re not a member yet, make sure you join! It’s a really fun group of girls!)

The first layout is for the “pet” challenge.

And the next layout is for the “LARGE title” challenge.

I used Photo Play Paper “Campfire” collection for this layout along with a couple of chipboard trees from Creative Embellishments , some word stickers and letters from Simple Stories and foam words from Jillibean Soup.

You have until November 4th to play along so why don’t you head on over and check it out.

There are TONS of prizes to be won! 😀

Happy scrapping!

Week 12…

Hello everyone.

Today I’m sharing my week 12 layout for the “52 Favourites” challenge over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}.  I combined it with a scraplift challenge they were having too.  I wasn’t looking at the layout when I was doing it, and was creating from memory, but my memory wasn’t very good and it didn’t turn out at all like what I was lifting! LOL!!

I used some Simple Stories SN@P! Basics patterned paper and an older sheet of Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper for my background.

The stickers and letters are from Jillibean Soup and Crate Paper and the wooden house is from Creative Embellishments.

After completing this page, I realized I have scrapbooked the same colours pretty much for my last few layouts and that my layouts are all starting to look very much the same!

I think I’m stuck in a rut!! 😦 Time to change things up – do a little more scraplifting, follow more sketches!  I have a bad habit of not looking at anything when I scrapbook and I think that leads to me creating essentially the same layout time and time again!

The next challenge coming up at The Studio Challenges is a sketch, so hopefully my layout will look fresh!!

Anyway, it’s Friday today, so enjoy your weekend and here’s hoping you get a chance to be a little bit creative!

Week 10 & the secret life of pets…

Hello there.

Just popping by quickly to share my week 10 layout for the 52 Favourites challenge over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}.  I combined it with their “Secret Life of Pets” challenge.

I used the “Cooper & friends” collection from Photo Play Paper.

I’m supposed to be going scrapbooking all day tomorrow with my girls, however, I woke up this morning with a cold! 😦 I’m hoping to get a good nights sleep and I’ll feel better tomorrow and not worse.

Fingers crossed!

Happy scrapping!

Week 9…

Hello there.

I’m just popping in to share my week 9 layout for the “52 Favourites” challenge over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}.

I used papers from the Carta Bella “Our House” collection I purchased from the Paper Issues store.

The title “Sweet” is from my Jillibean Soup foam stickers I purchased a while ago.  They are a part of the Garden Harvest collection.

I was looking for little things to add as embellishments and pulled out my old heart punch from Epiphany Crafts.  Since I used some heart paper, I thought I would punch out a few hearts to add to the page.  In the end, I didn’t really care for the hearts I punched out, but the instead used the strip of paper I punched the hearts from! 😀

A few stickers, some enamel dots and roughed up paper edges and the layout was done!

My husband has to work tonight, so I plan on doing some more scrapbooking! I’m planning to work on my next design team assignment.

Happy scrapping!

Week #7…

Hi there!

Yesterday I completed my scrapbook page for the “52 Favourites” challenge over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}This is week #7! I honestly can’t believe I have done a scrapbook page every week this year so far! It’s so fun!!! What I like most about it, is I’m documenting the everyday moments and not just special occasions or big events.

I used this sketch from the Scrapbook Nerd blog for inspiration.

The layout was created using Echo Park‘s “A Perfect Winter” collection and a few miscellaneous jewel dots I had that matched the layout perfectly.

I hadn’t ordered any of the coordinating embellishments (I should have!!) so I didn’t have much to create dimension with. So I used pop dots and popped up some of the stickers.

If you haven’t checked out the Scrapbook Nerd blog yet, you really should.  It has some great inspiration!

You can get there by clicking HERE!

Happy scrapping!

Week 6…

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing with you layout #6 of my “52 Favourites”.

For this layout, I played along with the “Take 5” challenge over on the Paper Issues Friends & Fans facebook page.  They give you a list of items to choose from for your layout and you have to include 5.  From the items on the list, I picked red, pink, the word “love”, a heart and polka dots.

I really enjoy this challenge so I’m glad I got the chance to play along.  Want to check it out? Just click here and ask to join the group (if you’re not already a member!).

I used papers from Kaisercraft “Hide & Seek” collection I purchased from Scrapbook Nerd.  I also used Jillibean Soup foam words, and Simple Stories chipboard pieces from their “Life in Color” collection.

I popped up some of my embellishments to create a bit more dimension.  Also, I didn’t have all the letters I needed in the font I wanted to use, so my “n”  in the word “in” is an upside down small “u”, my “m” in the word “mug” is an upside down small “w”, and my “u” in mug is a capital “U” cut down.

My first Design Team reveal is this Sunday for The Studio Challenges, so stay tuned to see what I created!

Happy scrapping.

Hungry like a bear…

Good morning everyone!

Here’s the layout I created yesterday.

It’s for week 4 of my “52 Favourites”, but also I played along with another challenge over at Paper Issues.  It’s the “Tic Tac Toe” challenge.  You have to use items in squares that form a diagonal, horizontal or vertical line (just like in tic tac toe).  I went with a vertical line on the left side of the chart which was “Bears, Patterned Paper and Journaling”.DSCN8479What I like a about challenges are they really help you think outside your scrapbooking box.

For this photo of the bread, I would never have thought of using this title, or a bear on my page for that matter, but by participating in the challenge, I ended up with a much cuter page than I had in mind.dscn8480dscn8481For the background, I used a piece of Bazzill Basics Kraft paper and the patterned paper is from Photo Play Paper “Campfire” collection along with the bear sticker.  I also cut out the little bear peeking out from behind the journaling from a piece of their paper and the “TODAY” paper I journaled on.  The enamel dots are from Simple Stories “Hello Fall” collection.

I’m off now to go to Michaels.  I have three 40% off coupons and I’m in desperate need of some new albums since I’ve been scrapbooking so much lately. 😀

Catch up soon!
