I found time to play…

Hey there!

It’s been a while, but in the midst of our move, I found some time finally to play!

I got together with a few of my scrapbooking girls recently and created these two layouts for a couple of the Fall on-line crop challenges over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} page. (If you’re not a member yet, make sure you join! It’s a really fun group of girls!)

The first layout is for the “pet” challenge.

And the next layout is for the “LARGE title” challenge.

I used Photo Play Paper “Campfire” collection for this layout along with a couple of chipboard trees from Creative Embellishments , some word stickers and letters from Simple Stories and foam words from Jillibean Soup.

Got together with the girls…

Hey everyone!

Last weekend I got together with a couple of my scrapbooking sistas and did some pages!

I’m please with most of them and wanted to share a couple of my favourites with you!

For this layout, I was inspired by a challenge going on over at The Studio Challenges.  The challenge is to use at least 2 fonts in your title and to journal.  I journaled about a birthday tradition we have for our son.

I used papers from the Pink Fresh “Boys Fort” collection and some cute stickers from Photo Play Paper’s “Wild Love” collection.

The letters in the title are from some really old Bella Blvd. collections. So glad I didn’t get rid of them! LOL!!!

For my next layout, I used Kaisercraft’s “Let’s Go” collection.

The colours worked perfectly with the photo!

All of my supplies were purchased from Scrapbook Nerd.  They’re an on-line shop located in a little town in Ontario.  The service is wonderful and the delivery is super speedy.  If you haven’t checked them out yet, head on over when you get a minute!

Well, off to get some dinner started!

Hope you find some time this week to get scrappy!

Hungry like a bear…

Good morning everyone!

Here’s the layout I created yesterday.

It’s for week 4 of my “52 Favourites”, but also I played along with another challenge over at Paper Issues.  It’s the “Tic Tac Toe” challenge.  You have to use items in squares that form a diagonal, horizontal or vertical line (just like in tic tac toe).  I went with a vertical line on the left side of the chart which was “Bears, Patterned Paper and Journaling”.DSCN8479What I like a about challenges are they really help you think outside your scrapbooking box.

For this photo of the bread, I would never have thought of using this title, or a bear on my page for that matter, but by participating in the challenge, I ended up with a much cuter page than I had in mind.dscn8480dscn8481For the background, I used a piece of Bazzill Basics Kraft paper and the patterned paper is from Photo Play Paper “Campfire” collection along with the bear sticker.  I also cut out the little bear peeking out from behind the journaling from a piece of their paper and the “TODAY” paper I journaled on.  The enamel dots are from Simple Stories “Hello Fall” collection.

I’m off now to go to Michaels.  I have three 40% off coupons and I’m in desperate need of some new albums since I’ve been scrapbooking so much lately. 😀

Catch up soon!

A little shopping…

Hello everyone!

I was thinking last week, if I’m participating in a challenge that requires me to scrapbook 1 layout a week, I’d better buy some new stuff!! 😉

So, last Thursday night while my husband and son went to the movies, I ordered some goodies from Paper Issues. This is what happens when you leave me alone!

But then a couple of days ago, along comes a coupon in my inbox for 15% off any purchase at Scrapbook Nerd! Well, I’m not one to let a coupon go to waste! LOL! So I placed an order with them too!

Now I’m sitting here impatiently waiting on 2 orders to come in.  I’ve been scrapbooking quite a bit lately trying to use up my old stash because I need to make room for all the  new things coming in.

Here are a couple of layouts I’ve completed using up my older stash:DSCN8374I used up the last of my Simple Stories “Cabin Fever” collection on this layout.  The colours of these papers worked perfectly for this photo.DSCN8365And for this layout, I used up the last of my Crate Paper “Boys Rule” collection which I think came out about 5 years ago!

I was lucky to be able to come home from work early today so I’m going to go and start on another page for the “52 Favourites” challenge.  Remember, you can join in the challenge at any time! It’s really fun…and challenging!

Happy scrapping!

Hello!

Hello everyone!

I’m so excited to have a scrapbooking blog again.  I haven’t been doing as much scrapbooking as I’ve wanted to in the last little while but have decided this year I was going to get at it again.

To start it off, I want to share a layout I created for a “52 Favourites” challenge over at Paper Issues.  It challenges you to document one favourite thing from your week EVERY WEEK! I thought this was the perfect challenge to get my back into it!  This layout is for week 3.

DSCN8391I used some old Heidi Swapp “September Skies” papers for this layout and embellishments from Simple Stories “Life in Colour”.  I’m stashbusting and using up items from older collections to make way for new stuff coming in soon!! 😀dscn8393dscn8395I journaled around the edges of the layout creating my border bringing all the elements together.  Whenever I journal, I always write everything out in pencil first and then write over top with my marker.  This way I know the journaling fits in the space.  I erase the pencil once I know the ink is dry.dscn8397If you would like to join in on the “52 Favourites” challenge, then you’ll need to become a member of the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook page.  You can do that by clicking here!

Happy scrapping!
