Colour challenge…

There’s a new challenge going on over at The Studio Challenges.

Create a project using the 2019 Pantone colour of the year – coral!

Here’s the layout I created:

I really had to look for something in my stash that was coral! LOL! I had recently created a layout using up all my coral papers, so I was really happy to find ONE piece of coral paper in the Photo Play “Stuck On You” collection I just received.

I only used this one piece of paper for the layout. The embellishments I used are from a number of different manufacturers – Simple Stories, Kaisercraft, Bella Blvd., Creative Embellishments and American Crafts just to name a few.

So head on over to The Studio Challenges and check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with!

Happy scrapping!

Only 1…

This week got away from me and I was only able to complete 1 challenge for NSD.

I played along with a challenge over at Scrapbook Nerd ~ Friends Group. It was a “patterned paper” challenge. You had to use as many different patterned papers as you could on one layout. I managed to fit 7 different papers on this page!

Even with using 7 patterned papers on my layout, I still managed to make the photos stand out by having the patterned papers only peek out slightly from behind the photos. Also, I used a paper with a very small pattern for my background paper.

I used papers and stickers from the “Let’s Go” collection by Kaisercraft and then added a few yellow enamel dots and a taxi button from an older Shimelle collection to finish it off.

Because I used multiple photos and so many patterned papers, I didn’t want to add too many more elements.

Well, it’s Mother’s Day today, so Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

I hope you get spoiled!!

The power of 3…

Hello everyone!

There’s a new challenge today over at The Studio Challenges  – “The Power of Three“!

For this challenge, whatever you use on your page, you have to use 3 of.  For example, if you use patterned paper, you have to use 3 different papers, for your embellishments, you have to use 3, use 3 photos on your page, and so on.  I’m sure you get the idea! 😉

Here’s my layout for the challenge:

I used 3 photos, a 3 word title, 3 stars, 3 patterned papers, 3 yellow enamel dots, 3 green enamel dots, 3 words stickers, 3 element stickers, and 3 pennants in the corner under the year.

This layout is a little simpler than I wanted it to be, but I was challenged to work with groups of 3 and didn’t want to clutter up my layout with too many different elements.

So, head on over to the blog and check out what the rest of the design team came up with for this challenge.

And if you play along, please share your work with us! We love seeing your interpretations!

Happy scrapping!

SPRING…

Happy Easter everyone!

Today we have a new challenge over on The Studio Challenges blog – SPRING!!

We’re asking you to create a project using items from your crafting supplies that spell the word “SPRING”.

I actually found this challenge, well, challenging! LOL!! There are a lot of items that start with the letters in “SPRING”, however, you have to use them all together in one project.

Here’s my take on the challenge:

I mainly used Vicki Boutin’s “Field Notes” collection I purchased from Scrapbook Nerd. The colours were SUPER springy and I was able to meet most of the challenge criteria with the collection alone! BONUS!

The word “hello” is from Jillibean Soup’s “Garden Harvest” collection and the enamel dots from Doodlebug Designs.

I really hope you play along! If you do, remember to link up your project on our blog.  We LOVE to see your work!

So head on over to The Studio Challenges blog and find out what items I used and see what the rest of the DT team came up with.

Happy scrapping!

Week 12…

Hello everyone.

Today I’m sharing my week 12 layout for the “52 Favourites” challenge over at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}.  I combined it with a scraplift challenge they were having too.  I wasn’t looking at the layout when I was doing it, and was creating from memory, but my memory wasn’t very good and it didn’t turn out at all like what I was lifting! LOL!!

I used some Simple Stories SN@P! Basics patterned paper and an older sheet of Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper for my background.

The stickers and letters are from Jillibean Soup and Crate Paper and the wooden house is from Creative Embellishments.

After completing this page, I realized I have scrapbooked the same colours pretty much for my last few layouts and that my layouts are all starting to look very much the same!

I think I’m stuck in a rut!! 😦 Time to change things up – do a little more scraplifting, follow more sketches!  I have a bad habit of not looking at anything when I scrapbook and I think that leads to me creating essentially the same layout time and time again!

The next challenge coming up at The Studio Challenges is a sketch, so hopefully my layout will look fresh!!

Anyway, it’s Friday today, so enjoy your weekend and here’s hoping you get a chance to be a little bit creative!
