We’re asking you to use Chevrons on your layout. It’s one of MY absolute favourite shapes!
Here’s the layout I created:
I found this old photo of Mathieu while I was packing and decided I would use it for the challenge. I used Kaisercraft’s “Hide & Seek” collection. This sweet collection worked perfectly with my sweet photo. 🥰
Looking now at the photo of my completed layout, if I were to do it again, I would change a few things. But overall, I like the randomness of it. I learned long ago not every layout is going to be a favourite! Some days you’re on your game, and other days, not so much. Today was a not so much day for me!! LOL!
Anyhow, we would LOVE you to join us over at The Studio Challenges. If you do, please link up your layout. You may be chosen to be our next guest designer!
Last weekend I got together with a couple of my scrapbooking sistas and did some pages!
I’m please with most of them and wanted to share a couple of my favourites with you!
For this layout, I was inspired by a challenge going on over at The Studio Challenges. The challenge is to use at least 2 fonts in your title and to journal. I journaled about a birthday tradition we have for our son.
The letters in the title are from some really old Bella Blvd. collections. So glad I didn’t get rid of them! LOL!!!
For my next layout, I used Kaisercraft’s “Let’s Go” collection.
The colours worked perfectly with the photo!
All of my supplies were purchased from Scrapbook Nerd. They’re an on-line shop located in a little town in Ontario. The service is wonderful and the delivery is super speedy. If you haven’t checked them out yet, head on over when you get a minute!
Here’s my interpretation of it. I chose to turn the sketch counter-clockwise.
I used papers from Kaisercraft’s “Blessed” collection, ephemera bits from Vicki Boutin’s “Colour Kaleidoscope” collection and a piece of paper from her “Field Notes” collection. I chose to do a black and white background so my picture popped!
The title word is from Jillibean Soup’s “Harvest Garden” collection.
I finished off the layout with some yellow enamel dots, a few yellow flower stickers with little crystal centres and a piece of black and white flair.
So head on over to The Studio Challenges to see the sketch and check out the gorgeous layouts from the rest of the design team.
This week got away from me and I was only able to complete 1 challenge for NSD.
I played along with a challenge over at Scrapbook Nerd ~ Friends Group. It was a “patterned paper” challenge. You had to use as many different patterned papers as you could on one layout. I managed to fit 7 different papers on this page!
Even with using 7 patterned papers on my layout, I still managed to make the photos stand out by having the patterned papers only peek out slightly from behind the photos. Also, I used a paper with a very small pattern for my background paper.
I used papers and stickers from the “Let’s Go” collection by Kaisercraft and then added a few yellow enamel dots and a taxi button from an older Shimelle collection to finish it off.
Because I used multiple photos and so many patterned papers, I didn’t want to add too many more elements.
Well, it’s Mother’s Day today, so Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
Today I’m sharing with you layout #6 of my “52 Favourites”.
For this layout, I played along with the “Take 5” challenge over on the Paper Issues Friends & Fans facebook page. They give you a list of items to choose from for your layout and you have to include 5. From the items on the list, I picked red, pink, the word “love”, a heart and polka dots.
I really enjoy this challenge so I’m glad I got the chance to play along. Want to check it out? Just click here and ask to join the group (if you’re not already a member!).
I popped up some of my embellishments to create a bit more dimension. Also, I didn’t have all the letters I needed in the font I wanted to use, so my “n” in the word “in” is an upside down small “u”, my “m” in the word “mug” is an upside down small “w”, and my “u” in mug is a capital “U” cut down.
My first Design Team reveal is this Sunday for The Studio Challenges, so stay tuned to see what I created!
