And here’s my take on the sketch (also week 13 of “52 Favourites”):
I used the Vicki Boutin “Colour Kaleidoscope” collection I purchased from Scrapbook Nerd.
I also used a few enamel dots from My Mind’s Eye, some stickers from Simple Stories, a wooden button from an older Shimelle collection and the title “this” is from the Jillibean Soup “Garden Harvest” collection.
If you aren’t already a member of the Scrapbook Nerd Facebook Friends Group, head on over and join. If you participate in the sketch challenge and share it in the group, you have a chance to win a $15 gift certificateto the Scrapbook Nerd shop! Who doesn’t love FREE stuff! I sure do!! 😉
The title “Sweet” is from my Jillibean Soup foam stickers I purchased a while ago. They are a part of the Garden Harvest collection.
I was looking for little things to add as embellishments and pulled out my old heart punch from Epiphany Crafts. Since I used some heart paper, I thought I would punch out a few hearts to add to the page. In the end, I didn’t really care for the hearts I punched out, but the instead used the strip of paper I punched the hearts from! 😀
A few stickers, some enamel dots and roughed up paper edges and the layout was done!
My husband has to work tonight, so I plan on doing some more scrapbooking! I’m planning to work on my next design team assignment.
Today I’m sharing with you layout #6 of my “52 Favourites”.
For this layout, I played along with the “Take 5” challenge over on the Paper Issues Friends & Fans facebook page. They give you a list of items to choose from for your layout and you have to include 5. From the items on the list, I picked red, pink, the word “love”, a heart and polka dots.
I really enjoy this challenge so I’m glad I got the chance to play along. Want to check it out? Just click here and ask to join the group (if you’re not already a member!).
I popped up some of my embellishments to create a bit more dimension. Also, I didn’t have all the letters I needed in the font I wanted to use, so my “n” in the word “in” is an upside down small “u”, my “m” in the word “mug” is an upside down small “w”, and my “u” in mug is a capital “U” cut down.
My first Design Team reveal is this Sunday for The Studio Challenges, so stay tuned to see what I created!
It’s for week 4 of my “52 Favourites”, but also I played along with another challenge over at Paper Issues. It’s the “Tic Tac Toe” challenge. You have to use items in squares that form a diagonal, horizontal or vertical line (just like in tic tac toe). I went with a vertical line on the left side of the chart which was “Bears, Patterned Paper and Journaling”.What I like a about challenges are they really help you think outside your scrapbooking box.
For this photo of the bread, I would never have thought of using this title, or a bear on my page for that matter, but by participating in the challenge, I ended up with a much cuter page than I had in mind. For the background, I used a piece of Bazzill Basics Kraft paper and the patterned paper is from Photo Play Paper “Campfire” collection along with the bear sticker. I also cut out the little bear peeking out from behind the journaling from a piece of their paper and the “TODAY” paper I journaled on. The enamel dots are from Simple Stories “Hello Fall” collection.
I’m off now to go to Michaels. I have three 40% off coupons and I’m in desperate need of some new albums since I’ve been scrapbooking so much lately. 😀
I was thinking last week, if I’m participating in a challenge that requires me to scrapbook 1 layout a week, I’d better buy some new stuff!! 😉
So, last Thursday night while my husband and son went to the movies, I ordered some goodies from Paper Issues. This is what happens when you leave me alone!
But then a couple of days ago, along comes a coupon in my inbox for 15% off any purchase at Scrapbook Nerd! Well, I’m not one to let a coupon go to waste! LOL! So I placed an order with them too!
Now I’m sitting here impatiently waiting on 2 orders to come in. I’ve been scrapbooking quite a bit lately trying to use up my old stash because I need to make room for all the new things coming in.
Here are a couple of layouts I’ve completed using up my older stash:I used up the last of my Simple Stories “Cabin Fever” collection on this layout. The colours of these papers worked perfectly for this photo. And for this layout, I used up the last of my Crate Paper “Boys Rule” collection which I think came out about 5 years ago!
I was lucky to be able to come home from work early today so I’m going to go and start on another page for the “52 Favourites” challenge. Remember, you can join in the challenge at any time! It’s really fun…and challenging!
