Today over at The Studio Challenges we’re on a Chevron kick!
We’re asking you to use Chevrons on your layout. It’s one of MY absolute favourite shapes!
Here’s the layout I created:
I found this old photo of Mathieu while I was packing and decided I would use it for the challenge. I used Kaisercraft’s “Hide & Seek” collection. This sweet collection worked perfectly with my sweet photo. 🥰
The title words are from Jillibean Soup and the wooden Chevrons from Creative Embellishments.
Looking now at the photo of my completed layout, if I were to do it again, I would change a few things. But overall, I like the randomness of it. I learned long ago not every layout is going to be a favourite! Some days you’re on your game, and other days, not so much. Today was a not so much day for me!! LOL!
Anyhow, we would LOVE you to join us over at The Studio Challenges. If you do, please link up your layout. You may be chosen to be our next guest designer!
I have some exciting news!
I’m so honoured to have not only one, but TWO of my layouts published in the 2019 Fall edition of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine!
PUMPKIN CARVINGThis magazine is packed FULL of great layouts, tips and information!

I won’t be doing a ton of scrapbooking in the next month because we are going to be moving at the end of September. But once we get settled, I’ll be right back at it!
Today over at The Studio Challenges we’re asking you to create a monochromatic layout.
I had a picture of my husband and a couple of knives he forged that I wanted to scrapbook, so I decided to use varying shades of greys and blacks to keep the page masculine. These colours were also perfect for a challenge over at Scrap The Boys, so I played along there too!
I used a variety of manufacturers on this page as I was looking for only black and grey patterned papers and embellishments. So head on over to The Studio Challenges and check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with.
And if you decide to play along, we would love to see your work, so make sure you link up your layout! 😀
Today over at The Studio Challenges we have a sketch for you!
Here’s my take on it.
The sketch is all about layers and I’m not a huge layer-er (is that even a word? LOL!) but I did incorporate some layers onto my page and I was inspired by the stars on the sketch.
For this layout, I used a bunch of different manufacturers.
Believe it or not, the paper is from Bella Blvd.’s “Sweet & Spooky” collection (not a birthday collection even though it’s a birthday layout!), the flair is from “A Flair for Buttons”, stickers from the Pink Fresh “Boys Fort” collection and the foam words I used for the title and epoxy dots are Jillibean Soup.
So head on over to The Studio Challenges to see the sketch I used to create this page and have a look at what the rest of the DT came up with.
I’m sure you’ll be inspired!
Last weekend I got together with a couple of my scrapbooking sistas and did some pages!
I’m please with most of them and wanted to share a couple of my favourites with you!
For this layout, I was inspired by a challenge going on over at The Studio Challenges. The challenge is to use at least 2 fonts in your title and to journal. I journaled about a birthday tradition we have for our son.
I used papers from the Pink Fresh “Boys Fort” collection and some cute stickers from Photo Play Paper’s “Wild Love” collection.
The letters in the title are from some really old Bella Blvd. collections. So glad I didn’t get rid of them! LOL!!!
For my next layout, I used Kaisercraft’s “Let’s Go” collection.
The colours worked perfectly with the photo!
All of my supplies were purchased from Scrapbook Nerd. They’re an on-line shop located in a little town in Ontario. The service is wonderful and the delivery is super speedy. If you haven’t checked them out yet, head on over when you get a minute!
Well, off to get some dinner started!
Hope you find some time this week to get scrappy!
Today over at The Studio Challenges we want to hear your story! That’s right! The challenge is all about the journaling!
But for an added twist, let’s see you use 2 different fonts for your title. 😀
Here’s my take on the challenge!
I used Photo Play Paper’s “Wild Love” collection for this layout, a piece of flair from A Flair for Buttons , some assorted alphas and enamel dots.
Whenever I’m going to be journaling on my layout, I write out what I want to say in pencil first and then erase it when I’m done. This helps me to not make errors on the page and then have to come up with a creative way to hide them! LOL!So head on over to The Studio Challenges and see what the rest of the design team came up with.
And if you play along, please remember to share your layout with us! We love to see your work!
For today’s challenge over at The Studio Challenges we are asking you to use stars and stripes on your layout.
And since I’ve been using these challenges to catch up on my scrapbooking, my stars and stripes are all about Christmas! LOL!
I mostly used the My Minds Eye “Winterberry” collection on this layout with a mix of letters from October Afternoon and Simple Stories. Some of the stickers and 1 piece of paper are from the older Simple Stories “Sub Zero” collection.
The stripes are in the plaid pattern and in behind the pictures and I have 1 star dotting my letter “i” in the word “Glimpses”. This is a far stretch, I know, but that’s a nice thing about challenges, you can use them as a jumping off point! 😀
So head on over to The Studio Challenges and see what the rest of the design team came up with.
I’m sure you’ll be inspired!
